About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on and experienced Tech Lead to join our growing engineering team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of talented engineers, driving the technical direction of our backend, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will work closely with Product Managers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

- Own the overall architecture and design of our systems, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and security.
- Hands-on in Ruby, Python, SQL, NoSQL and event-based systems is a must. Overall the individual should be excited to build highly scalable complex distributed systems.
- Mentor and guide engineers on technical best practices, problem-solving, and career development.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.

Product Development:

- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Evaluate the technical feasibility and impact of product features.
- Contribute to the definition and refinement of product roadmaps.

Team Management:

- Lead and motivate a high-performing team of engineers.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide the engineering wrt to their career growth.
- Develop proactive and ownership culture.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.

System Operations:

- Monitor system performance and identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems.
- Automate to improve efficiency and reliability.
- **Innovation:**Explore and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential application to our products.
- Drive the adoption of AI/ML solutions to enhance product features and improve business outcomes.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.
- Proficiency in Ruby is a must and React is good to have.
- At least 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and high-performance backend systems.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language. Preferable - Python
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
