Job Description Overview Product Manager II (L62) Azure BCDR Location: Hyderabad / Bengaluru - Org: Azure Core Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) - Worksite: Onsite Why this role Azure is the world's computer, and customers expect resilience by design. The Azure Core BCDR team delivers platform capabilities and experiences that guarantee predictable recovery across zonal/region failures and ransomware scenarios, spanning Azure Backup, Site Recovery and emerging resiliency experiences. You'll help shape and ship the capabilities that keep our customers missioncritical workloads runningevery day, everywhere. Organization Overview Azure Core builds the foundational substrate for Azure across compute, storage, networking, management and resilience. Teams focus on platform quality, availability, capacity, efficiency, and customerfacing control planes that are highly reliable and scalable. Azure Core BCDR delivers endtoend protection and recovery for IaaS, databases and cloudnative services, with investments and roadmaps covering backup, site recovery, crossregion/zonal resiliency, ransomware recovery, and atscale management. The team partners across Azure Core and with field/customer teams to raise the resiliency baseline and provide singlepane management experiences. Responsibilities Role summary As a PM II, you will own a slice of the Azure BCDR customer problem spacefrom problem definition and PRD/roadmap to execution with engineering and launch/landing with customers and field. You'll drive clarity from ambiguity, validate solutions with data and customers, steward livesite, and iterate quickly to deliver resilient, compliant, and usable experiences. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) - Own a customer problem area in BCDR (e.g., zonal/region recovery workflows, ransomwaresafe backups, posture & drills) and deliver clear PRDs, OKRs, and roadmaps aligned to Azure Core quality and resiliency goals. - Translate customer/regulatory needs (RTO/RPO, test failover, evidence) into platform features and guidance, partnering across product groups and other stakeholders like Finance, Field, Business Planning, Support. - Drive endtoend scenario design for backup, restore, replication and recoveryincluding crosszone/region patternsand validate with telemetry, experiments, and customer previews. - Partner closely with engineering to plan, deliver and safely roll out features using Azure Core safedeployment practices; ensure SLI/SLO definitions and instrumentation support customer outcomes. - Own livesite quality for your scenarios, and postincident learning to improve patterns and product guardrails. - Land the product with customers and field: content, demos, and bestpractice guidance aligned to the WellArchitected reliability pillar and BCDR essentials. - Collaborate crossAzure (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security/Defender, Data) to unblock dependencies and deliver cohesive experiences at scale. - Contribute to PM craft: crisp writing, storyboards, data informed decisions, and inclusive collaboration. Qualifications Qualifications Required - 5+ years product/program management (or related) AND a Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math or equivalent. - Experience shipping cloud platform or enterprise features endtoend (backlogPRDdelivery) with engineering/design and measurable customer impact. - Working knowledge of BCDR or reliability concepts (e.g., RTO/RPO, test failover, crosszone/region patterns) and ability to translate them into customer experiences and docs. - Demonstrated datadriven decision making (telemetry/experiments, field/customer feedback) and strong written communication. Preferred - Experience with Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, or adjacent resiliency experiences. - Exposure to security & ransomware recovery concepts (immutability, cleanroom recovery, threatinformed restores). - Handson with IaaS/AKS/Database scenarios or platform services that require high availability and disaster recovery. - Experience collaborating across Compute/Storage/Networking/Security platform teams and with field/customer stakeholders. What Success Looks Like - Autonomous ownership of a multifeature area within BCDR; consistently delivers roadmap increments with high quality and clear tradeoffs. - Customervalidated outcomes: improvements in adoption and successful drills/recoveries for your scenarios; clear problem/solution narratives backed by telemetry and customer evidence. - Crossdiscipline leadership that generates energy, creates clarity in ambiguous areas (e.g., zonal testability, evidence for audits), and delivers success through crisp docs and crossteam execution.
