Role Purpose To lead the HR function at the plant level by maintaining the right manpower strength optimizing resources driving employee engagement and development ensuring statutory compliance managing industrial relations and overseeing administrative functions such as transport and security in alignment with organizational goals Key Responsibilities Manpower Planning Optimization Maintain manpower levels as per the approved plan while ensuring cost-effective utilization Monitor and improve workforce productivity through process and resource optimization Plan timely recruitment of apprentices and trainees to meet plant requirements Training Development Drive employee training initiatives to build technical and behavioral competencies Employee Engagement Involvement Implement employee involvement activities to improve morale and workplace culture Organize employee welfare programs and grievance-handling sessions to build trust and collaboration Statutory Legal Compliance Ensure adherence to all labor laws statutory requirements and corporate compliance guidelines Liaise with government officials legal experts and local authorities on plant-related matters Manage and monitor legal cases pertaining to plant operations Industrial Relations IR Union Handling Support Head - HR IR in maintaining harmonious industrial relations at the plant Build and sustain a constructive relationship with labor unions through regular dialogue and negotiation Proactively address potential conflicts disputes or grievances to avoid escalation Contract Labour Administrative Functions Oversee contract labor management including contractor compliance and wage disbursement Manage Time Office canteen services and welfare facilities effectively Monitor and control administrative expenses for the plant Ensure smooth operations of employee transport services and optimize routes and costs Oversee plant security management ensuring safety protocols and coordination with security service providers Strategic HR Initiatives Identify and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives Partner with plant leadership for organizational change and development programs Desired Profile Postgraduate in HR with around 15 years of experience in a manufacturing industry Experienced in Industrial Relations roles and effective union handling Strong business acumen and proven competence in administering plant HR operations Strong knowledge of labor laws and statutory compliance Expertise in the full spectrum of HR functions including conflict resolution and change management Progressive leadership communication and negotiation skills Proficiency in Tamil language speaking reading and writing is mandatory
