ASSOCIATE GAP CONTENT & CURRICULUM SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Summary Description

The Associate Gap Content & Curriculum Support Specialist applies content knowledge and instructional design principles to create digital and print instructional materials across products, subject areas, and grade levels. This position also provides support for reviewing and resolving curriculum-specific client issues.

Essential Job Functions

- Provide content and standards expertise in creating effective instructional/assessment materials.
- Analyze standards and other curriculum requirements to develop blueprints, scope and sequences, and other project content-planning documents.
- Write and edit educational materials (lessons, activities, assignments, assessment items, etc.) for assigned products and content areas.
- Follow guidance to implement and ensure consistent application of instructional design and guidelines
- Create quality instructional components of print and digital products
- Communicate and collaborate within and across functional teams, as well as with vendors and independent contractors, to manage development efforts effectively
- Set priorities to meet deadlines for requested tasks and actively communicate the status with the project lead
- Update and revise existing content development documentation (process documents, guidelines, etc.)
- Conduct content-related research as directed.
- Utilize a variety of software and tools to complete job duties
- Contribute to projects on multiple products outside the primary area of expertise
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert as needed for support tickets
- Triage curriculum-specific client issues.
- Provide 2nd tier support of our content for customers.
- Resolve curriculum-specific bugs and report defects.
- Interact with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Respond to customers following team communication protocols.
- Other duties as required

Candidates who will be successful in this role tend to have the following qualities:

- Strong subject matter expertise in 1 or more subject areas
- Experience designing content for grades6-8 with Algebra 1 knowledge.
- Flexible work across systems, products, projects, and subject areas
- Strong knowledge of instructional design and curriculum development
- Experience writing assessment items
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

Qualifications

- Bachelor&aposs degree in education or a specific subject area in Mathematics.
- Teaching experience or curriculum development experience preferred.
- Impeccable writing and proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
- Superior written/oral communication skills; an ability to present his/her views clearly and compellingly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other productivity tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to complete simple and complex projects, prioritize multiple deliverables, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and flexible while managing shifting internal expectations.
