Job Description
- Install, configure, and administer EMC Networker backup solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to backup jobs, storage nodes, media, and devices.
- Perform routine backup and recovery operations, including system and data restores.
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery procedures.
- Work with other teams (Storage, Network, DBAs, Application teams) to ensure backup requirements are met.
- Ensure proper scheduling, retention policies, and offsite tape management.
- Implement best practices for backup, recovery, and data protection.
- Generate regular reports on backup health, capacity, and performance.
- Manage tape libraries, backup hardware, and associated software upgrades or patches.
- Maintain documentation related to backup infrastructure, processes, and configurations.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
