Role Description We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the systems powering our platform. You'll play a key role in designing and developing scalable APIs and backend services that support large scale data processing and collaboration features. This is a highly cross-functional role where you'll work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and fellow backend engineers to deliver performant and reliable features end to end. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that are secure, reliable, and scalable - Build backend applications using microservices architecture and serverless technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, etc.) - Work with product and frontend teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions - Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate unit and integration test coverage - Optimize performance of data workflows, API endpoints, and service infrastructure - Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and platform design sessions - Contribute to deployment, monitoring, and debugging of production services - Help maintain a high engineering standard and share knowledge across the team Qualifications: - 5+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably in a fast-paced or high-growth environment - Strong understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and API design principles - Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js) - Experience working with databases (relational or NoSQL) and designing performant schemas - Familiarity with cloud services (AWS preferred) and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) - Ability to write well-tested code and build reliable services with automated CI/CD workflows - Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially working with cross-functional teams Nice to Have: - Prior experience working with DynamoDB or other NoSQL systems at scale - Exposure to rate limiting, content processing, or event-driven architectures - Experience with authentication, permissions, or API gateway design
