Conducting Eye Examinations Performing comprehensive eye exams to check for vision problems and ocular diseases Diagnosing Vision Issues Identifying refractive errors e g myopia hyperopia astigmatism and other eye conditions like glaucoma cataracts and macular degeneration Prescribing Corrective Lenses Recommending eyeglasses or contact lenses to correct vision problems Managing Eye Diseases Offering treatment plans or referrals for conditions such as dry eyes infections and chronic diseases like glaucoma Providing Vision Therapy Assisting patients with exercises or therapies to treat issues like lazy eye or eye alignment problems Prescribing Medications In some regions optometrists can prescribe medications for certain eye conditions Counseling Patients Advising patients on proper eye care including hygiene protection and preventive measures Pre- and Post-Surgical Care Offering care and follow-up for patients who have undergone eye surgery like LASIK or cataract surgery Collaboration with Other Health Professionals Working alongside ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers when specialized or advanced treatments are required Maintaining Records Documenting patient history examination results and treatment plans Job Type Full-time Pay 16 000 00 - 30 000 00 per month Experience total work 1 year Preferred Work Location In person
