The role involves routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other hotel systems. Maintenance Technicians contribute to a comfortable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests and staff. They work closely with the engineering and housekeeping teams to ensure that operational standards of a 5-star property are consistently maintained. Key Responsibilities 1. Preventive and Routine Maintenance Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of hotel equipment, including HVAC systems, elevators, pumps, generators, electrical panels, and plumbing systems. Ensure lighting, electrical, and plumbing installations are functioning correctly. Maintain records of maintenance activities, including service logs and inspection reports. 2. Repair and Troubleshooting Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel departments, including guest rooms, banquet halls, kitchens, and public areas. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing faults efficiently. Work with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs when required. 3. Safety and Compliance Ensure all maintenance operations comply with safety standards, fire codes, and hotel policies. Participate in safety drills, inspections, and audits. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tools to maintain personal and guest safety. 4. Equipment Operation Operate and maintain hotel equipment like chillers, boilers, generators, pumps, and air-conditioning units. Monitor equipment performance and report any irregularities to the Engineering Manager. Ensure energy efficiency and optimal operation of all mechanical and electrical systems. 5. Coordination and Documentation Coordinate with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to prioritize maintenance requests. Maintain detailed records of repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance schedules. Report to the Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager regarding major repairs, resource requirements, and improvements. Skills and Competencies Technical Skills Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of fire safety systems, pumps, chillers, DG sets, and building management systems (BMS). Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshooting techniques. Behavioral & Interpersonal Skills Problem-Solving Ability: Quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions. Teamwork: Work collaboratively with engineering, housekeeping, and other hotel departments. Attention to Detail: Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet hotel standards.
