Position Overview

Job Title- Senior UX Designer, AVP

Location- Bangalore, India

Role Description

Designers are responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including user research and UX/UI design. It may also involve taking functional oversight of design delivery for specific departments. Designing application and/or workflow solutions to accomplish business goals. Designing the user's experience with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle. Ensuring maintainability, usability, and accessibility of designed solutions. Ensuring solutions are well designed and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow. Reviewing workflows and user interfaces for quality to drive re-use and improve the user experience. Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative techniques, tools and solutions in the Bank. We are looking for a senior product designer to join one of these horizontally aligned teams to support Corporate Bank's portfolio by bringing a laser focus on customer-centricity.

Your key responsibilities

- Leading the design process.
- Take ownership of the user experience design process from conception to execution, ensuring that design solutions meet user needs and business goals.
- Conducting user research. Plan and conduct user research activities such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Creating wireframes and prototypes. Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts to stakeholders and development teams.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams. Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive and user-friendly design solutions.
- Implementing design solutions. Collaborate with front-end developers to implement design solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation and usability.
- Iterating based on feedback. Gather feedback from user testing, analytics, and stakeholder reviews to iterate and improve design solutions continuously.
- Maintaining design consistency. Establish and maintain design systems, component libraries, and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability across digital products.
- Mentoring junior designers. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, helping them grow their skills and contribute effectively to design projects
- Keeping up with industry trends. Stay informed about the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in UX/UI design and incorporate them into design processes and solutions.
- Advocating for the user. Champion the needs and perspectives of users throughout the design and development process, advocating for user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Be able to support and/or facilitate workshop/walkthrough sessions using Design Sprint and Design Thinking methodologies.
- Produce interactive prototypes in Figma or Axure for user testing and demonstrations.

Your skills and experience

- 10+ years experience and comprehensive knowledge of user experience and user interface design.
- Expert at designing and prototyping in Figma
- Proficiency in UX/UI design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or Axure for creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Strong understanding of front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure seamless integration of design with web or mobile applications. . Knowledge of responsive design principles to create user interfaces that adapt to various screen sizes and devices.
- Familiarity with user research methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Experience with interaction design and animation tools to create engaging user experiences, such as Principle or Adobe After Effects.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices to ensure inclusive design for all users.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other designers throughout the design and development process.
- Experience with version control systems like Git for managing design files and collaborating with other team members.
- Knowledge of prototyping tools like InVision or Proto.io to create interactive prototypes for user testing and stakeholder feedback.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive and user-friendly design solutions.
- Proficiency in user-centered design methodologies and experience designing for various user personas and scenarios.
- Understanding of information architecture principles to organize and structure content effectively within digital products.
- Knowledge of design systems and component libraries to maintain consistency and scalability across multiple projects.
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel) to measure and optimize user experiences.
- Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries such as React.js, Angular, or Vue.js for building interactive and dynamic user interfaces.
- Ability to collaborate with back-end developers to ensure seamless integration of design elements with backend systems and databases.
- Proficiency in prototyping tools with advanced interactions and animations capabilities, such as Principle, Origami Studio, or Adobe XD Auto-Animate.
- Understanding of SEO principles and best practices to optimize digital experiences for search engines.
- Knowledge of usability heuristics and UX/UI design patterns to create intuitive and familiar interfaces for users.
- Experience with mobile app development frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) to design and prototype mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate at senior level.
- Proven experience of delivering results in matrixed organizations under pressure and tight timescales.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor/Master's degree in computer science or a related field
