Job Description Job Title: Datacom Developer Experience: 5+ Years Location: Hyderabad/Bangalore/Chennai Job Type: [Full-time ] Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Datacom Developer(Senior Network Protocol Engineer) with strong expertise in C programming, network protocols (L2/L3), and hands-on experience with switching/routing platforms. The ideal candidate should possess excellent debugging skills, deep understanding of data/control plane architecture, and experience working with traffic generators such as IXIA and Spirent. This role involves developing, enhancing, and troubleshooting complex network features in high-performance networking products. Key Responsibilities 1. Protocol Development & Feature Enhancement - Develop and maintain networking features using C programming in embedded or networking environments. - Implement and optimize L2/L3 networking protocols on switching/routing platforms. - Work on both control plane and data plane functionalities for network devices. 2. Troubleshooting & Debugging - Debug complex issues across firmware, protocol stacks, and network layers. - Analyze logs, packet captures, and system behaviors to identify root causes. - Work with large-scale, production-level codebases and improve code quality. 3. Testing & Validation - Use traffic generators (IXIA, Spirent) for testing performance, scale, and compliance. - Validate protocol implementations under real-world scenarios and stress conditions. 4. Collaboration & Technical Leadership - Work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, hardware, and platform engineers. - Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and provide technical guidance. - Write clear documentation for design, architecture, and technical workflows. 5. Performance Optimization - Optimize protocol logic, data structures, and memory usage for high-speed networking devices. - Ensure minimal latency and maximum throughput in both control and data plane operations. Required Skills & Qualifications - Strong C programming skills (mandatory). - Solid understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols (e.g., VLAN, STP, LLDP, ARP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6). - Experience working with Switches/Routers, embedded networking platforms, or NOS. - Strong knowledge of control plane vs. data plane architecture. - Hands-on experience with IXIA, Spirent, or similar traffic generators. - Proven ability to troubleshoot complex networking and software issues. - Experience working with large and complex codebases. -
