We are looking for a responsible and disciplined Hostel Warden to manage the day-to-day operations of the student hostel. The warden will ensure a safe, secure, and healthy living environment, uphold discipline, and support the overall well-being of students residing in the hostel.Key Responsibilities 1. Student Welfare & Supervision Ensure the health, safety, and general well-being of all hostel residents. Maintain daily interaction with students to build rapport and monitor their emotional, physical, and mental welfare. Act as a mentor and disciplinarian while maintaining a balance between firmness and empathy. Provide counseling and support to students in times of distress or conflict. Enforce hostel rules and maintain a disciplined environment that supports academic pursuits. 2. Hostel Administration Maintain up-to-date records of hostel residents, including admissions, withdrawals, attendance, and room allocation. Supervise the allocation of rooms, furniture, and storage space in an organized and fair manner. Prepare and submit regular reports to management on hostel occupancy, maintenance needs, disciplinary issues, and other activities. Ensure timely collection of hostel fees and assist in hostel budgeting and expense tracking. 3. Safety & Security Ensure that safety protocols and emergency procedures are followed by all residents. Conduct regular checks to prevent unauthorized entry, misconduct, or possession of prohibited items (e.g., alcohol, drugs, weapons). Handle medical or disciplinary emergencies promptly and report incidents to higher authorities. Coordinate with security personnel and emergency services when needed. 4. Facility Management Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of the hostel building, rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas. Report and follow up on repairs, plumbing issues, electrical faults, and other maintenance concerns with the facilities team. Monitor the quality of food served in the mess and ensure hygienic kitchen practices in coordination with the kitchen staff. Ensure proper waste management, water usage, and energy-saving practices are followed. 5. Staff Supervision Supervise support staff such as housekeeping, kitchen workers, security guards, and maintenance personnel. Prepare work schedules, assign duties, and monitor staff performance. Conduct regular meetings with hostel staff to address concerns, review operations, and plan improvements. 6. Communication & Liaison Act as a point of contact between students, parents/guardians, academic administration, and hostel authorities. Communicate hostel-related information, rules, updates, and notices to residents effectively. Address grievances raised by students or parents in a timely and transparent manner.
