Senior Mechanical Engineer Location Mumbai India Working from Thane office Job Status Permanent Sector Data Centres part of Life Sciences High Tech Unit Salary Competitive and negotiable Job Title Senior Mechanical Engineer Report to Design Project Manager Deerns Spectrum Private Limited is the joint venture between Deerns Groep B V and Spectrum PharmaTECH Consultants Private Limited As a fully integrated business of the globally operating Deerns Group we specialise in high-end engineering services and are committed to delivering world-class engineering services across India South Asia and East Africa Together we offer comprehensive advisory design and engineering solutions for mission-critical facilities requiring specialized conditions such as data centers hospitals laboratories and clean rooms With a unique combination of deep technical expertise and extensive local market knowledge Deerns and Spectrum are dedicated to serving clients across key sectors including data centers healthcare life sciences and microelectronics Deerns is a company that was founded 96 years ago We specialize in Mechanical Electrical and Piping MEP advisory design and engineering particularly for mission critical and high-tech building systems and industrial facilities We have 600 employees across 17 offices in 10 countries We re experiencing an exciting period of growth and we have opportunities available for a talented and innovative individual to join our fast-growing office at a senior level and looking to take their career on to the next step Key Activities - Attend and or lead Client Design team Professional teams and Contractor s team meetings Develop concept and detailed design of mechanical services and associated controls Produce Schematics specifications calculations equipment schedules and reports to meet required robust industry and legal standards Coordinate your designs with the other disciplines Maintain a commercial awareness of projects track hours versus agreed fee s Agree any variations or changes to the design prior to allocating additional hours Responsible for technical content and accuracy of Trainee Graduates and Engineers Carrying out technical reviews of contractor s technical submissions working drawings and samples Monitor the quality of the contractor s mechanical installations ensuring they meet the client s requirements and local standards regulations Carrying out validation reviews of contractor s designs and specifications Experience with large scale cooling and HVAC systems Ability to carry out problem solving on site Carry out QA QC inspections on site and produce associated reports Attend witness testing activities on site and produce associates reports Drive to achieve sustainable and energy efficient engineered solutions The role will involve some site attendances in India as well as abroad o Be capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team This role would be ideally suited to someone who is passionate about data centres and the data centre market and who is versatile personable and articulate If you are looking for a new opportunity to further your Career then please apply responding with a cover letter and CV Requirements - Degree Qualified o Advanced language ability minimum English and Hindi both written and spoken Experience in working in a multinational and multicultural setting Typically 5-7 years experience in a similar role Previous mission critical design experience in across the data centre telecom and or mission critical sectors working for consulting engineers Previous experience seeing projects through from concept through construction including testing and commissioning phases Should be working towards or already be a Chartered engineer with relevant bodies in India Willingness to support growth mentor other team members Ability to work to schedule tight deadlines and budgets o Ability to prioritise own workload and that of their team Ability to carry out problem solving Experience of being technical lead on projects Experience with advanced cooling systems in Data Centers Familiarity with Indian engineering regulations Familiarity with RIBA Plan of Work Indian design experience necessary with deep knowledge of Mechanical codes local and international IS and ISO Standards o Very good proactive communicator
