Senior Capacity Planning Manager

Job Description Job Description Are you a business-oriented individual, experienced with providing predictive analytics and consulting on capacity planning Would you enjoy an ability to make decisions that influence Akamai's strategic initiatives Join our Capacity Planning team Our Cloud Technology Group takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining and operating our global compute and storage platform. We design, develop and deploy critical technologies including the hardware, software and network infrastructure. This provides the technical underpinnings for all of Akamai's products. Create long-term forecasts and consult on methodologies across various stakeholders In this role you will be leading capacity related activities for multiple workloads using Akamai's storage platform. Incorporating business intelligence and analyzing information gathered from various sources to create and maintain the forecast and capacity models. As a Senior Capacity Planning Manager, you will be responsible for: - Developing and maintaining high-quality scalable time-series data source where all critical resource utilization metrics are aggregated and tracked. - Analyzing historical and segmentation data to identify trends and insights to provide capacity plans for each workload - Building views that provide insights into the usage, risk, and efficiency of resources for each business workload - Designing, developing and maintaining scaled, automated systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support Akamai business needs - Collaborating with internal teams to gain good understanding of workload nature and characterize for host deployment activities - Participating in strategic & tactical planning discussions and cost optimization plans based on resource usage insights Do What You Love To be successful in this role you will: - 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent - Have significant experience in a capacity planning function, within a cloud environment - Show ability to have impact on business results through statistical analysis of supply and demand alignment - Possess exceptional analytical and quantitative capabilities with an ability to provide data-backed analysis - Have experience working with both relational and non-relational database systems, complex SQL statements and MS Excel modeling - Demonstrate great communication skills including ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis to both technical and non-technical audience - Have ability to engage, influence, and build trusted relationships with stakeholders across various levels or geographies Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
