AWS DevOps Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Ansible Platform Architect with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure, automation, and cloud-native security practices. This role will drive the design, build, and rollout of a highly scalable and secure Ansible-based automation platform across a large multi-account AWS environment. You'll also integrate AI/ML-driven automation for inventory and patch management and ensure the system is architected to support future cloud-agnostic deployments.

Project Objective

- Building a scalable, secure, and automated Ansible platform for configuration and patch management across a large AWS environment.
- Environment spans 100+ AWS accounts with thousands of EC2s, Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate, and other services.

Core Technologies:

- Ansible (central tool for configuration and security automation).
- AWS (EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, Security Groups, etc.).
- AI/ML for inventory management, packaging, and automation.
- Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- GitHub + GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
- Use of RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), Okta, and multi-token security for access controls.
- Security tools for vulnerability management, with data ingested and remediated via Ansible.

Security & Compliance:

- Remediating vulnerabilities within 30 days across all infra layers.
- Enforcing automated compliance and secure deployments.

Cloud Strategy:

- Currently on AWS, with plans to support cloud-agnostic deployment (Azure, possibly GCP).
- Aim to build cloud-native, not cloud-provider-specific solutions.

Team Structure & Expectations:

- Team of ~15 engineers with varied maturity in automation.
- Need an Ansible architect who can build, scale, and automate the platform using AI/ML to minimize manual operations.
- Infrastructure spans Linux and Windows, Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate, EC2, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect, design, and implement a secure and scalable Ansible automation platform across 100+ AWS accounts.
- Integrate agentic AI/ML capabilities to automate inventory management, patch packaging, and remediation workflows.
- Collaborate with security teams to ingest vulnerability data and automate compliance using Ansible.
- Work closely with DevOps and Infra teams to manage EC2, Kubernetes, ECS, RDS, IAM, VPC, etc.
- Ensure access control using RBAC, Okta, and other identity management systems.
- Build CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and manage IaC with Terraform.
- Prepare platform for multi-cloud readiness with potential support for Azure or GCP.

Job Requirements

Must-Have:

- Deep expertise in Ansible platform architecture and scalability.
- Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, Security Groups).
- Strong understanding of cloud security, RBAC, and identity/access management tools (e.g., Okta).
- Proficiency in Terraform, CI/CD tools (especially GitHub Actions).
- Exposure to AI/ML, preferably with agentic AI experience in automation.
- Experience in enterprise-grade system design, fault tolerance, and compliance.

- Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with Azure or GCP cloud platforms.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools and automated remediation.
- Ability to design cloud-native, not provider-specific, systems.
