Position Title: Senior Merchandiser Home Textile Industry

Job Summary:

The Junior Merchandiser for the Home Textile Industry is responsible for supporting the merchandising team in the day-to-day operations related to product development, order processing, customer communication, and inventory management. This role involves assisting in the execution of strategies to enhance the company's product offerings and ensure timely delivery of home textile products, including bedding, curtains, cushions, and towels, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Product Coordination & Development:
- Assist in product development and sampling processes by working closely with suppliers, designers, and production teams.
- Ensure that all products align with the company's design, quality, and price guidelines.
- Keep track of product timelines to meet customer expectations and production deadlines.
- Order Processing:
- Process orders from customers and ensure all details are accurately recorded in the system, including specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules.
- Follow up with suppliers and production teams to ensure orders are processed and shipped on time.
- Monitor order status and update customers as required regarding progress.
- Supplier and Vendor Coordination:
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding order status, quality issues, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors to facilitate smooth business operations and ensure competitive pricing.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in inventory planning and stock management to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
- Work with the team to ensure that inventory levels meet market demands and avoid excess stock, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Quality Control Support:
- Assist in quality control inspections to ensure all products meet the required quality standards.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address product defects or discrepancies and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Market Research & Trend Analysis:
- Assist in conducting market research to understand industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive product offerings.
- Support senior merchandisers in identifying new market opportunities and product trends for the home textile segment.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of orders, shipments, and product samples.
- Prepare reports on inventory, sales trends, and product performance for senior management review.
- Customer Communication:
- Assist in communicating with clients regarding product inquiries, order status, and any changes to the delivery schedule.
- Address customer complaints or issues with products in a timely and professional manner.
- Price Negotiation and Costing:
- Assist in the preparation of pricing for new products, ensuring they are competitive and profitable.
- Support the team in negotiating prices with suppliers to meet cost targets and enhance product profitability.
- Product Presentation & Display Support:
- Assist in the preparation of product samples, presentations, and catalogues for clients.
- Support trade shows, exhibitions, and sales meetings by preparing displays and product information.

Qualifications:

- Education & Experience:
- A degree in Textile, Fashion Design, a related field.
- Prior internship or work experience (7 to 12 years) in merchandising or the textile industry is preferred but not required.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Basic understanding of textiles, fabric types, and home textile products.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and merchandising software.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
