Project Overview Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant PMC Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management EPCM Services for offsites and utilities OSBL for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade expansion of an existing petrochemical facilities in India The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region the project sites in India as well as several key contractor locations across India The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel s India offices This position will start as an assignment in Mumbai India office prior to the receipt of the full notice to proceed from the Owner and will eventually transition to the job site for the EPC execution of the project Job Summary Responsible for the organization and activities relating to surveying engineering including supervising and directing survey team activities subordinate surveyors and others as required Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets Major Responsibilities Leads the implementation and monitoring of the survey program in accordance with Construction Surveying SWPP Establishes develops and maintains site survey data Establishes and controls the survey work request form program Implements and provides oversight to survey quality control program Establishes As-Built and record retention program Implements the program for calibration baseline checks of survey instruments Performs verifications of subcontract survey work Reviews and provides input to project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule and material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials Develops project construction procedures Plans and recommends procedures to be implemented by construction contractors to ensure surveying operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications Maintenance of construction engineering records for job history Supervises the receiving distribution and filing of plans and specifications Implements controls over variables affecting job progress to ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings materials and equipment and to ensure that other corporate programs are fully utilized Coordinates with Area Field Engineer for any work related to contract administration and activities affecting the contract administration operation Performs employee reviews for subordinate personnel assists in their development and ensures that subordinate personnel receive progressive training Provides input to the project staffing plan for construction engineers and associated personnel Education and Experience Requirements A recognized degree in Civil engineering or scientific discipline Actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge described above Required Knowledge and Skills Experience with Total stations R series GPS Experience in the use of Global Positioning System GPS survey technology and Robotic Total Station instruments Advanced knowledge of data collection and downloading Experience in surveying activities Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines cost and scheduling and contract administration Knowledge of Indian standards and specification and codes as applicable including various safety procedures and practices associated with the construction activities Familiar with Bechtel s Business Ethics handbook and policies Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental Safety Health ES H Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements Knowledge of Bechtel s Zero Accidents safety program Knowledge of the use of subcontracts knowledge of the contractor subcontractor s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors Total Rewards
