About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer I to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Astra's innovative security solutions. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to automate deployment processes, optimize cloud infrastructure, and enhance system reliability. Your expertise will enable Astra to scale efficiently while maintaining high performance and security standards. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS in production environments. You should have a strong understanding of compute, networking, IAM, and integration services within these cloud ecosystems. Proven experience in building and maintaining containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes is essential. Familiarity with Service Mesh technologies like Istio, as well as Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible, is highly desirable. You should be proficient in designing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, and capable of scripting automation workflows in Python and Bash. A solid grasp of observability and security best practices, including monitoring with Prometheus, Cloud Logging, and GCP Monitoring, is required. Excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative attitude are key to success in this role. Responsibilities As a DevOps Engineer I at Astra Security, your core responsibilities will include: - Designing, building, and maintaining containerized environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-hosted solutions to ensure scalable and reliable infrastructure. - Architecting cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS, focusing on scalability, security, and optimal performance. - Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible to streamline deployment workflows. - Developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions to facilitate fast, safe, and repeatable deployments. - Implementing comprehensive monitoring and logging frameworks with Prometheus, Cloud Logging, and GCP Monitoring to ensure high observability. - Embedding security and reliability practices into all layers of infrastructure, including IAM policies, deployment strategies, and incident response protocols. - Defining deployment strategies for staging and production environments, including blue/green deployment and rollback mechanisms to minimize downtime. - Writing clean, reusable automation scripts in Python and Bash to support operational efficiency and tooling needs. - Integrating service mesh technologies like Istio for traffic management, observability, and security enhancements. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure development with business goals and product requirements. - Documenting systems, processes, and best practices to ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams. - Proactively identifying system bottlenecks, analyzing incident reports, and implementing improvements to enhance overall reliability and resilience.
