Career Area Product Support Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc When you join Caterpillar you re joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do - but also about each other We are the makers problem solvers and future world builders who are creating stronger more sustainable communities We don t just talk about progress and innovation here - we make it happen with our customers where we work and live Together we are building a better world so we can all enjoy living in it Members of the Retail Electric Power Application Engineering team provide front line technical support to our dealers and sales teams with a focus on packaged generator set products The role would be of interest for those with broad technical knowledge and a desire to be more closely involved with the end customer and their projects The team helps deliver sales results engages with our dealers and end customers to better understand their needs Job Duties Responsibilities may include but are not limited to Response to dealer technical inquiries on Electric Power products ranging from very basic to extremely complex This includes development of Design to Order DTO quotations for custom products not offered in the standard pricelist Consultation with both the dealer sales organizations on product offerings and how to best apply them This will include project specific technical guidance along with being an interface to core engineering teams while investigating alternative solutions Feedback to engineering and product definition teams in order to drive and improve future product development allowing Caterpillar to better meet our customer needs Act as a liaison to a specific sales region to better understand the needs of that market and work to lead the A I team in a more focused support of that region Identification delivery of product application training along with creating independent materials and white papers to assist with frequently requested topics Understand of Tender specifications and communicating them with engineering teams and helping to produce submittal documents This position will act as a consultant to various departments within Caterpillar regarding the direction and strategies that key industry leaders will be adopting in the future Must communicate effectively across product industry dealer and or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations Manages the compliance of their own assignments and keeps up to date with new industry trends changing technology and regulations affecting the competitive environment Have knowledge of electrical and mechanical Interfaces between Genset and Customer equipment at site This position will also make regular visits to job locations foreign and domestic to provide advice and counsel to potential customers Must have ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures internally and externally with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit Possess good verbal and written Communication skills including seeking approval seeking consensus Required Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum 10 years experience with product and or industry expertise Willingness to travel up to 25 of the time throughout the year Previous technical experience working with Genset controllers Electrical System Architecture Synchronization and Paralleling schemes Control and Protection in Power System etc Multidisciplinary skills Business Development Sales Marketing Technical Sales Significant account management experience and or commercial experience within the company and or was a fully contributing member on significant projects and or teams Excellent analytical and computer skills Desired Qualifications Previous field technical or sales experience working with Customers Dealers Distributors Preferably as Cat Reps Territory Managers Product Support Rep Familiarity with various Caterpillar systems TMI EOMP CSQ EDDC and other technical drawing and operations system Knowledge of advanced Excel programming Familiarity with business Intelligence Tools to visualize and analyse data like MS PowerBi Posting Dates June 10 2025 - June 25 2025 Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer Not ready to apply Join our
