Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design Engineer with a strong background in processor-based hardware design and multi-layer PCB development. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of technical engineering experience in developing high-speed boards, working across cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with design, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & develop high-speed boards based on architecture specification documents.
- Create schematics and PCB designs (minimum 8 layers), ensuring proper pinout management and signal routing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to review functional specifications & test plans.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to meet DFM (Design for Manufacturing) requirements.
- Perform thorough testing, validation, and compliance checks for hardware designs.
- Conduct root cause analysis & troubleshooting of hardware defects, and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure designs meet signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal requirements.
- Hands-on work in lab environments with oscilloscopes, power supplies, BERT, traffic generators, and protocol analyzers.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of hardware design experience in processor-based systems.
- Expertise in schematics design & PCB CAD tools (Cadence Orcad, Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS, Cadence Allegro).
- Strong knowledge of high-speed interfaces: PCIe/CXL, DDR, USB, UFS, SERDES, etc.
- Solid understanding of Signal Integrity & Power Integrity concepts.
- Proven experience designing 8+ layer PCB boards.
- Hands-on lab experience with testing, debugging, and validation equipment.
- Strong skills in Embedded Hardware Design and Board bring-up.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers (CM)/ODMs, fault isolation, and RCCAs.
- Familiarity with Thermal Chambers and Protocol Analyzers (PCIe, DDR, USB, UFS, SPI, I3C/I2C).
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Perl) for automation and validation tasks.
