We are seeking a knowledgeable Middleware Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the architecture, deployment, and management of our middleware technologies. As a Middleware operations SME, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization&aposs application ecosystem by providing operational support, ensuring system stability, and working closely with development, infrastructure and security teams to ensure smooth operations of middleware component. You&aposll work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize integrations, resolve issues, and provide guidance on middleware best practices.

- Lead the design and architecture of middleware solutions, ensuring they align with business goals and technical requirements
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to create reliable and scalable middleware architectures
- Develop documentation, architectural diagrams, and best practice guidelines
- Implement automation scripts for deployment, configuration management, and monitoring using tools like Ansible or Puppet
- Middleware Administrator supports and documents the installation, configuration, capacity planning, upgrading, problem resolution and debugging of all middleware product environments
- Coordinates environment configuration activities to ensure integration and alignment with other IT technology, processes, systems, applications, and environments
- Document middleware platforms and related infrastructure as directed with respect to functionality, maintenance and administration
- Install and configure server operating systems, enterprise software and middleware services, including settings, directories, storage, in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements m
- Provides technical support and guidance (level 3) to end-users, and other IT resources
- Self-motivated and possess drive, and ability to work independently and be a good team player

Responsibilities

- Collaborate on definition of infrastructure standards and contribute to the overall architecture roadmap
- Collaborates on technical design and provides consulting including identification and documentation of requirements and design
- Collaborates in the installation, configuration and upgrading of enterprise application software, customizing soft tables and program parameters and managing associated environments
- Recommend and lead improvements to provide the highest level of availability and performance
- Provide proactive support to maintain high availability and reliability of middleware systems
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve middleware-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, application errors, and connectivity issues
- Manage middleware patches, upgrades, and security configurations in line with best practices
- Follows policies and procedures to ensure corporate compliance, examples include corporate data security and change control
- Coordinate with engineering, solution vendors and support teams on problem resolution, design issues and upgrades

Must Have Skills For Middleware Administrator

- Minimum of 4 - 5 years of experience in middleware administration, with expertise in platforms like Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic, IBM MQ
- Proven experience in middleware architecture and design for large-scale environments
- Extensive knowledge on Apache Tomcat / Apache HTTPD / Nginx / IIS / Oracle Weblogic / Oracle Httpd server
- Unix / Linux & Windows operating systems
- Shell scripting
- Networking concepts
- Perl scripting
- Experience in DevOps Open Source Middleware technologies/tools and automation development will be an advantage
- Work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure seamless application integration and performance
- Provide training and mentorship to team members on middleware administration, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques
- Keep up-to-date with middleware technologies, trends, and advancements, applying them where beneficial

- Knowledge on Messaging queue services like Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ
- Knowledge on Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions
- LDAP tools like Open LDAP, IBM LDAP
- Knowledge on Microfocus Enterprise server for Mainframe application deployments
- Cache tools like Memcached, Redis
