Why this job matters BT Business is undergoing an exciting digital transformation We re simplifying products transforming customer journeys modernising infrastructure and phasing out legacy systems As part of our Service tribe we re looking for a talented Engineering Specialist to join us You ll play a critical role in driving technical excellence innovation and successful project delivery for customer-facing applications with the support of our telco OSS BSS backend Your responsibilities will include overseeing the development and maintenance of various software applications ensuring best practices and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives If you re a forward-thinking leader ready to revolutionise BT s digital landscape join us Leverage your expertise to drive transformation make strategic decisions and align our digital products with our business objectives Let s shape the future of BT Business together What you ll be doing Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team promoting best practices in software development and architecture Lead by example staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends Team Management Manage and mentor a team of talented engineers fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their full potential and career growth Project Management Oversee the development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment Ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and with the highest quality standards Technology Stack Demonstrate proficiency in the following technologies React Node AWS Amazon Web Services BrowserStack component sharing GraphQL Experience with NextJS Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe analytics would be beneficial Innovation Drive innovation within the engineering team by exploring and integrating cutting-edge technologies such as GenAI into our projects to improve efficiency and customer experience Delivery Excellence Champion the implementation of best practices in development methodologies code reviews and testing processes to ensure the delivery of robust and scalable software solutions Communication Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers designers and stakeholders to align technical decisions with business objectives The skills you ll need To be successful in the role of Digital Engineering Specialist at BT Business Digital you should possess the following qualifications and skills You should have a proven track record leading the technical teams ideally with exposure to digital customer service platforms We value hands-on experience in coding and implementing digital solutions Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team effectively Excellent knowledge of leveraging TypeScript ReactJS NodeJS technology to deliver end to end web applications Excellent knowledge of leveraging at least one major cloud provider preferably AWS to deliver cloud-native applications is highly desired Experience with other cloud platforms is also valuable Familiarity with Dynatrace or other monitoring and observability tools Familiarity with BFF Backend for Frontend and Micro-Service Architecture Familiarity with building reusable features as capability Familiarity with CI-CD Pipelines Agile Methodologies and Jira as a project management tool TDD Frameworks and Automation Tools like Cypress BrowserStack Selenium etc Excellent people management skills including coaching mentoring and performance evaluation Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and practices will be advantageous Additionally experience using analytics to enhance funnel conversion is beneficial for optimising our digital solutions Guides partnerships with business and operational stakeholders to conduct business and technical discovery While not mandatory knowledge of the telco domain is a bonus as it will help you better understand our industry-specific challenges and requirements Benefits Community culture -
