Project ManagerWould you like to contribute to business in Science TechnologyDo you enjoy managing projects end-to-end with exciting responsibilitiesAbout our TeamElsevier is a global information analytics company that helps institutions and professionals progress science advance healthcare and improve performance for the benefit of humanity We serve the research academic and clinical communities through the application of technology and analytics to content Our portfolio of solutions brings together extensive Scientific Technical and Medical content powerful analytics and technologies We help our corporate customers R D professionals engineers scientists and commercial marketing leaders to innovate and commercialize ideas products and processesAbout the RoleThe role involves managing production process in a way that meets or surpasses goals of profitability quality content and schedule agreed to at proposal and transmittal stages Includes overseeing of estimating scheduling and budget control or book and related media projects Responsibilities Monitoring projects budget and keep track Should any changes or corrections adversely impact upon the original estimate inform the appropriate staff so that effective remedial action may be taken with the minimum delay Authorizing and process invoices and ensure all stakeholders are kept informed of material change to the publication in terms of content specification and schedule Keep Publishing Services Manager closely informed about the status of projects Appreciating the importance of good housekeeping both in respect of paperwork and electronic material Ensure all files are posted to the correct location drives Overseeing project management for books produced by outside suppliers and ensure manuscript is complete before placing with suppliers Obtain any missing material Ensuring suppliers are briefed appropriately for the work to be done and brief includes agreement of requirement of level of editing required any specialist skills required specific spelling etc Liaisioning with publishers and authors to resolve any queries arising Ensuring artwork is supplied and accurately sourced on artwork source list and that it is of suitable quality and edit prelim material to incorporate correct Elsevier branding and ensure branding is correct before going to press Checking and approve cover ensuring correct Elsevier branding is used Check consistency of back cover blurb with internal text and Quality control spot check on each job Requirements3 experience handling Books thorough knowledge of print and electronic production and processesBachelor degree level or equivalent experience preference Science Graduates Proficiency in MS Office Word Excel and Office and AdobeTakes initiative to plan and organize daily activities and tasks Able to work independently on books Collaboration teamwork Builds relations and communicate strongly and correctlyWork in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work life balance across the organization We offer an appealing working prospect for our people With numerous wellbeing initiatives shared parental leave study assistance and sabbaticals we will help you meet your immediate responsibilities and your long-term goals Working flexible hours -
