This role combines mechanical design and finite element analysis (FEA), offering the opportunity to contribute to the conceptualization and structural validation of advanced automobile components. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in composite materials, hands-on experience with FEA tools, and a passion for innovation in material and structural design. Requirements Key Responsibilities - Develop conceptual and detailed designs for automobile components, emphasizing composite structures. - Create CAD models aligned with design requirements and performance specifications. - Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as Ansys Mechanical, Workbench, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, or PATRAN to ensure structural integrity and optimize designs. - Evaluate and iterate designs through simulation results and experimental validation. - Plan and execute necessary experiments to gather data for design inputs and improvements. - Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and collaborate with drafting teams to produce precise engineering drawings. - Design and analyze joints, assemblies, and interfaces considering material behavior and load paths. - Incorporate AI-based advancements in simulation and design optimization where applicable. - Work cross-functionally with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet design-for-manufacturing (DFM)standards and integrate seamlessly into production. What Makes You a Great Fit - 5+ years of experience in structural and composite design within the automotive or allied engineering domains. - Proficiency in one or more FEA software tools such as Ansys Mechanical, Workbench, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, PATRAN, Siemens NX, or equivalent. - Strong understanding of composite materials, including micro and macro mechanics, classical laminate theory, and failure theories. - Solid grasp of strength of materials, mechanical and structural design principles, and finite element methods. - Working knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or equivalent programming tools for automation and analysis. - Familiarity with composite manufacturing methods and design-for-manufacturing best practices. - A B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering disciplines, with strong academic performance (top-tier institutions preferred). - Analytical mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving and innovation. - Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across design, analysis, and manufacturing teams.
