This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

The work model for the role is: #LI - Hybrid.

This role is contributing to Process Automation for Energy Industries in INOPC, ABB, Bangalore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

- Lead Automation Strategy Drive the automation solution portfolio for the Gas Turbine segment within the Power Generation business, serving as the technical authority and subject matter expert.
- Technical Advisory Role Collaborate with the sales organization to provide expert technical guidance during the proposal phase, ensuring solutions align with customer needs.
- Solution Design & Presentation Prepare and present tailored automation solutions for Gas Turbine applications to customers across the Americas region.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with a technical hub of engineers who support the drafting and refinement of automation solutions.
- Innovative Problem-Solving Tackle complex engineering challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, delivering innovative and high-impact technical offerings.
- Customer Engagement Act as a key technical interface with customers, translating requirements into actionable automation strategies.
- Support Business Growth Contribute to the competitiveness and growth of the Power Generation Automation business through high-quality technical leadership.
- Reporting & Coordination Report to the Americas HUB Engagement Manager and coordinate activities from the Bengaluru, India office.

Qualifications for the role

- 10-15 Yrs of experience
- Gas Turbine Project Experience Proven track record of executing projects with Gas Turbine OEM control systems, including hands-on experience with Dry Low NOx (DLN) combustion engineering.
- Power Plant Process Knowledge Strong understanding of power plant operations, control philosophy, and the structural and functional architecture of control systems.
- Instrumentation & Automation Expertise Proficient in field instrumentation (sensors, transducers, drives for pressure, flow, temperature, etc.) and ABB DCS platforms (Symphony Plus or 800xA).
- Communication Protocols & IT Skills Familiarity with third-party communication interfaces (Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850) and current IT/networking practices including Windows OS and MS Office.
- Team Leadership & Development Experience in building and leading engineering teams with Gas Turbine competency, and managing project execution, resource planning, and reporting.
- Technical Aptitude Strong skills in system architecture, algorithms, and writing clean, efficient code; well-versed in legacy and modern operating systems.
- Mobility & Communication Willingness to travel internationally for project and sales support; excellent communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English.
- Graduation in B.E./B. Tech. (Electronics/Control and instrumentation).
