Job Description

Job Profile: FEA/Structural Design Engineer

About the project:

The project funded by the Government focuses on developing and demonstrating drone and allied technologies. The project will address various applications through the utilization of advanced technologies and critical infrastructure. Strong industry connections and collaborations will be fostered to solve pertinent challenges and drive technological advancements. Additionally, comprehensive drone training and awareness programs will be provided to ensure proficiency and understanding among people.

Qualification and Key Skills Required:

- Ph.D. OR
- MTech/ME/MDes or equivalent degree with minimum 4 years relevant experience OR
- BTech/BE/MA/MSc/MCA/MBA or equivalent degree with minimum 6 years relevant experience
- Candidate should have at least 3 years relevant working experience in Solid mechanics, stress analysis, fibre-reinforced composites, structural dynamics, finite element methods, and numerical methods
- Abaqus, Ansys for the finite element analysis (FEA) of UAV components
- SolidWorks for designing drone components
- Handling and manufacturing of fibre-reinforced composites
- Industrial experimental analysis according to ASTM standards
- Experimental and computational fatigue analysis of UAV components
- Scripting for Ansys using MATLAB, Python
- Advanced meshing techniques and model validation for FEA
- Non-linear, dynamic, and thermal FEA simulations
- Post-processing and interpretation of FEA results for design optimization
- Knowledge of industry FEA standards and compliance requirements

Job Profile:

- Structural analysis of multi-rotor, fixed-wing, hybrid-VTOL, and other conceptual drones under static and dynamic loading conditions
- Experimental and computational fatigue analysis, structural fatigue analysis, and life cycle assessment of UAV components
- Introduction of innovative polymeric materials or fibre-reinforced composites by suggesting composite layup configurations
- Experimental testing of manufactured components
- Shape optimization of UAV components
- Ability to carry out research and development activities as part of a larger design and development group
- Documentation of the development processes and preparation of design reports pertaining to UAVs
- Any other work as assigned
