SAP ABAP with Fiori/UI5

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Fiori Architect to lead and oversee the architecture, development, migration, and administration of SAP Fiori applications.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP UI5, Fiori Elements, OData services, and SAP Gateway, with a strong background in end-to-end project execution and system landscape optimization.

The role also includes mentoring graduate trainees and junior developers to build a strong pipeline of SAP UX talent.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and architecture of SAP Fiori/UI5 applications in S/4HANA and ECC environments.

- Own the migration strategy and execution of legacy SAP UI components to SAP Fiori-based solutions.

- Develop custom SAP Fiori/UI5 applications and extend standard applications based on business requirements.

- Administer SAP Fiori Launchpad including catalog, group, role configurations, and troubleshooting.

- Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams to ensure seamless integration with back-end systems.

- Guide the enablement of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services related to Fiori (e.g., SAP Build Work Zone).

- Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies for Fiori/UI5 applications.

- Define best practices and governance models for SAP UX development and lifecycle management.

- Mentor and coach graduate trainees and junior team members in SAP UI5/Fiori technologies, tools, and processes.

- Stay up to date on SAP innovations, roadmaps, and future releases to drive continuous improvements.

Architecture & Design:

- Define and drive the overall Fiori solution architecture aligned with business objectives.

- Design scalable, user-friendly, and responsive Fiori applications for SAP S/4HANA and legacy systems.

- Develop UI/UX strategies in collaboration with functional and business teams.

Development & Migration:

- Lead end-to-end development and enhancement of custom Fiori apps using SAPUI5 and SAP Web IDE/Business Application Studio.

- Perform app migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA and from on-premise to cloud environments (e.g., SAP BTP).

- Optimize existing Fiori apps and ensure compatibility with S/4HANA versions and Fiori design guidelines.

Administration:

- Manage Fiori launchpad configurations, catalog/group/role assignments, and tile definitions.

- Conduct performance tuning, issue resolution, and Fiori lifecycle management.

- Monitor and maintain Fiori security and authorization objects in coordination with BASIS and Security teams.

Mentorship & Collaboration:

- Coach and mentor graduate trainees and junior developers, fostering skills in Fiori/UI5 development and SAP fundamentals.

- Conduct code reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including ABAP, BASIS, Functional Consultants, and PMO.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

8 years of experience in SAP Fiori/UI5 development, with at least 3 years in an architect or lead role.

Willingness to work on challenges and across projects

Proven hands-on experience in SAP Fiori migration projects (from older UI or Web Dynpro-based systems).

Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SAPUI5 framework, and REST/OData integration.

Experience with SAP Gateway, CDS Views, BOPF, and S/4HANA Extensibility Framework.

Strong knowledge of OData service development (SAP Gateway), CDS views, and Fiori Elements.

Solid experience in Fiori Launchpad configuration and administration.

Working knowledge of SAP BTP, SAP Mobile Services, and Cloud Connector preferred.

Familiarity with GIT, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for SAP UI5.

Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior developers and graduate trainees.

Experience with Fiori security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Good understanding of SAP modules like MM, SD, FI/CO, and how Fiori apps integrate with backend processes.

Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- SAP Fiori or SAPUI5 certification.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and mobile Fiori apps.

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools for SAP development (e.g., Git, Jenkins).

- Knowledge of SAP Screen Personas and SAP Build Apps
