Director Of Engineering – Frontend

About the Role: We’re seeking a Director of Engineering – Frontend to lead the next phase of our client's product evolution. This role will drive the frontend engineering vision, architecture, and execution across web and mobile platforms, ensuring world-class performance, scalability, and user experience. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, product-first environment and has a deep understanding of building high-performing engineering teams in the e-commerce or quick-commerce space. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing frontend engineering team responsible for consumer-facing and internal products. - Define and execute the frontend technology roadmap in alignment with business goals and product vision. - Partner closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. - Own architecture decisions for the frontend ecosystem, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability. - Drive engineering excellence by instituting best practices in performance optimization, code quality, and continuous delivery. - Evaluate and introduce modern frameworks, tools, and workflows to improve development velocity and product quality. - Establish a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and ownership. Requirements: - Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier engineering institute (IITs, BITS, NITs, IIITs preferred). - Experience: 8–14 years of total experience, with at least 2–4 years in a leadership capacity managing large frontend teams. - Proven track record of building and scaling frontend systems in e-commerce or quick-commerce companies. - Strong expertise in modern frontend technologies such as React.Js, Next.Js, TypeScript, and associated tooling. - Experience architecting complex, large-scale, high-traffic web and mobile applications. - Deep understanding of performance optimization, responsive design, and frontend infrastructure. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence at senior levels.
