Maintenance Head 1 Overview The Maintenance Head is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department s operations ensuring the optimal functioning of all machinery and equipment in the facility The role requires strategic planning leadership and a focus on safety and efficiency to minimize downtime and enhance productivity 2 Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs Lead and manage a team of maintenance personnel including scheduling training and performance evaluations Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues or areas for improvement Coordinate and oversee all maintenance activities including preventive predictive and reactive maintenance Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations as well as company policies Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities expenditures and equipment performance to support budget planning and analysis Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of maintenance plans with operational goals Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in maintenance management 3 Technical Skills Proficient in mechanical electrical and plumbing systems Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance software and management systems Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes related to maintenance practices Ability to interpret technical drawings schematics and operational manuals Expertise in root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques 4 Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Engineering Facilities Management or a related field Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance management or a similar role with at least 3 years in a supervisory position Certification in maintenance management e g CMRP PMP is desirable 5 Skills Experience Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking Proficient in budgeting and resource allocation Proven track record of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines Strong commitment to safety and quality assurance practices This job description aims to attract qualified candidates who possess the necessary skills and experience to lead a maintenance department effectively
