Position Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The Senior Pharmacist will play a vital role in improving healthcare outcomes and optimizing medication use across the organization.Key Responsibilities:1. Medication Dispensing and Patient Safety: Review and accurately dispense prescriptions based on doctor’s orders. Ensure correct dosages, packaging, and labeling of medicines. Counsel patients on proper medication usage, storage, and potential side effects. Prevent and report medication errors or adverse drug reactions. 2. Pharmacy Operations Management: Supervise daily pharmacy activities to ensure smooth operations. Maintain proper inventory of drugs and consumables; monitor stock levels and expiry dates. Maintain accurate records of narcotic and restricted drugs as per legal requirements. Assist in audits by regulatory bodies and support internal compliance reviews. 4. Team Leadership and Training: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior pharmacists and pharmacy assistants. Assign duties, review work performance, and schedule shifts as required. Conduct in-house training on medication safety, inventory handling, and patient counseling. Foster a collaborative and ethical work culture within the pharmacy department. 5. Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions, recommend drug alternatives, and manage drug interactions. Participate in ward rounds or multidisciplinary case discussions, especially in inpatient and critical care settings. Support doctors and nurses with accurate pharmaceutical information for better patient care. 6. Quality Assurance and Risk Management: Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all pharmacy activities. Monitor and report any medication errors or inventory discrepancies. Review prescriptions for potential allergies, contraindications, and drug interactions before dispensing. Conduct periodic checks to ensure medication storage conditions (temperature, humidity) are within safe limits. 7. Technology and System Use: Use pharmacy management systems for prescription handling, billing, and stock tracking. Support digital transformation initiatives including e-prescriptions, barcoding systems, and automated inventory control.Required Skills and Competencies: Expert Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, dosage calculation, and prescription validation.
