You can find your pathway to success here at AAI If you think you have what it takes look at our job openings and apply to become a valued part of our team SAVING LIVES WITH INNOVATIVE SENSING SOLUTIONS Apollo America Inc AAI specializes in the design and manufacture of cutting-edge devices and systems that detect smoke and carbon monoxide Our focus is on alerting first responders and ensuring the safety of individuals in both residential and commercial buildings Renowned globally for innovation quality and reliability AAI delivers integrated life safety solutions Our offerings include fire systems HVAC solutions intelligent devices and wireless applications serving customers across the United States and North America At AAI we take pride in our commitment to saving lives through innovative sensing solutions As the System Design Senior Engineer for our Residential and Commercial business unit you will be responsible for providing expertise in designing electrical products Working in collaboration with the Electronics Firmware and Mechanical Leads your role will focus on developing the overall system perspective Your primary objective will be to ensure the seamless functioning of the entire system by integrating various components and subsystems A crucial aspect of your role will be to closely collaborate with customers and project managers to understand customer needs and validate project timelines and expectations By actively engaging with stakeholders you will contribute to the successful delivery of customer-focused solutions Responsibilities include but not limited to Utilize expertise in designing electrical products encompassing circuit schematic and PCB board development Manage microcontroller firmware including writing firmware for prototypes and conducting thorough testing Develop system communication and protocol specifications while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards Perform system debugging analyze and resolve issues and implement necessary changes Maintain comprehensive product documentation and provide sustaining support and design maintenance Collaborate closely with functional team including electrical mechanical and software engineers as well as product and program managers Critical Success Factors Proficient in the ECAD tools ORCAD Working knowledge of Electronics Circuit Design and Simulation Analog Digital Mixed Signal Schematics Capture Library development PCB design and manufacturing process BOM and Gerber data generation and verification Working knowledge of Firmware development understanding C ASM machine codes and embedded system architecture and constraints Able to write test firmware and evaluate validate circuit boards Strong use of test equipment - multimeter oscilloscope logic analyzer power supply spectrum analyzer and power analyzer Ability to perform root cause analysis write reports and rework SMT circuit boards Working Knowledge of RF Antenna design and simulation is desirable Experience 8 to 10 years of system design engineering experience Electrical Mechanical Firmware Software Engineering expertise Experience in PCB design Cadence OrCAD Preferred Low power circuit design Microcontrollers and Communication protocols I2C SPI UART RF Competencies Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Effective communication skills both written and verbal Team Player Results Oriented Collaboration Problem solving Attention to detail Location This position is in Bengaluru India reporting to the Deputy Engineering Manager at Halma India Hub Your Future at AAI is Calling Not the right fit Let us know you re interested in a future opportunity by clicking Introduce Yourself in the top-right corner of the page or create an account to set up email alerts as new job postings become available that meet your interest
