Bengaluru, India neuroGrid Full time

Software Engineering Manager Location: Bengaluru, India (Residency Road, In-Office, Full-Time) Reports to: Head of Engineering, US About neuroGrid neuroGrid is a well-funded climate-tech startup building a next-generation SaaS platform to accelerate the development of modern, low-cost power plants and AI infrastructure—including data centers, solar, wind, battery storage, nuclear, and transmission. Energy is the world’s largest and most critical industry—and it’s undergoing a once-in-a-century transformation driven by rapid AI datacenter expansion. Our AI-powered platform is built to meet this moment. By transforming fragmented data, manual workflows, and institutional knowledge into a single intelligent work orchestration system, we help energy and data center developers move faster, reduce costs, and make better decisions. Our product strategy is intentionally broad and ambitious, supporting users across multiple domains—land control, interconnection, permitting, engineering, finance, stakeholder engagement, and more. The Role We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and rapidly scale our Bangalore engineering team. You will play a critical role in building our MVP from the ground up, partnering closely with product leadership to translate customer needs into a robust, AI-driven SaaS platform. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in the challenge of starting with a small, high-caliber team and scaling to a much larger group over the next two years. You should love building new products, enjoy the energy of in-person collaboration, and be motivated to shape both the product and the team. Responsibilities Lead and scale : Manage, mentor, and inspire a growing engineering team (currently 3 engineers), with a mandate to recruit and develop a much larger team over 24 months. MVP builder : Collaborate with Product and Design to architect, build, and deliver the neuroGrid MVP—applying enterprise SaaS best practices. Product & customer focus : Work closely with product leadership to deeply understand user needs and ensure technical execution aligns with business goals. AI product experience : Apply AI/ML technologies to automate and optimize customer workflows. Judgment & ambiguity : Make effective decisions and provide clarity in ambiguous or fast-evolving situations. Culture builder : Foster an open, high-performance engineering culture; mentor engineers and encourage growth. In-person leadership : Champion in-office collaboration, team building, and cross-functional partnerships. Requirements Proven experience building and launching MVPs for complex, enterprise SaaS products (REQUIRED). Team management : Demonstrated ability to manage small (3-5) and medium (20-30) sized teams; experience recruiting and growing teams in a fast-paced environment. Product mindset : Strong understanding of product strategy, customer requirements, and translating needs into technical solutions. AI application experience : Hands-on experience developing products that leverage AI to automate workflows or deliver user value. Technical leadership : Ability to architect, review, and guide technical decisions for greenfield products. Judgment under uncertainty : Comfort making decisions when direction is incomplete or evolving. Collaboration : Enjoy and prioritize in-person time with engineers; act as a mentor, coach, and team builder. Communication : Strong communicator, comfortable working across cultures and time zones. Bonus: Experience in the energy sector (utility-scale renewables, data centers, grid infrastructure, etc.) Compensation & Growth Competitive cash salary plus meaningful equity in a fast-growing climate-tech startup. Significant upside: Opportunity for increased cash compensation as you develop into a senior engineering leader and as the team scales over the next two years. Be part of neuroGrid’s core engineering leadership—shaping both the product and the company’s future. How to Apply If you’re excited to lead and scale a high-performing engineering team while building innovative software from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your resume and a brief note about your experience and interest in neuroGrid to: Erik Langenborg (erik@neurogrid.ai) and Jack Fisher (jack@neurogrid.ai)
