Technical Lead – Backend

Job Title: Technical Lead – Backend / Full Stack Engineering Experience: 12+ Years Location: Hyderabad Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in backend development (primarily) and/or full stack engineering to drive innovation, scalability, and performance across modern enterprise systems. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture, complemented by solid proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Express or Fastify. This role involves working closely with EET Distinguished Engineers on cutting-edge initiatives including the InnerSource Portal, Copilot Rule Translation (Prompt Library), and Template Project Enrichment. The position demands technical excellence, leadership, and the ability to influence engineering practices across teams through innovation and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Development - Lead the design and development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance backend systems. - Provide architectural guidance and hands-on development support for Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based applications. - Drive implementation of event-driven, messaging, and batch processing architectures to support complex enterprise workflows. - Ensure system resiliency, observability, and performance through proactive engineering practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business goals. AI & InnerSource Collaboration - Partner with EET Distinguished Engineers to evolve and enhance the InnerSource Portal (React-based). - Translate organizational coding guidelines into Copilot Rules and maintain a Prompt Library for AI-assisted development. - Contribute to template project enrichment, standardizing development patterns and best practices for enterprise adoption. - Drive InnerSource adoption by creating reusable, compliant, and performant project templates. Software Engineering Excellence - Apply a performance-first mindset across the entire SDLC, from design to deployment. - Enforce strong coding standards, design principles, and testing practices. - Ensure high-quality code through unit testing, integration testing, and performance profiling. - Champion CI/CD, containerization, and deployment automation for continuous improvement. - Conduct technical reviews, mentor team members, and promote engineering excellence. Full Stack Engineering (Optional / As Required) - Contribute to full stack initiatives using Core JavaScript and TypeScript. - Build modular backend services using Express or Fastify frameworks. - Implement secure APIs (REST and GraphQL) with strong authentication and authorization mechanisms. - Design efficient database schemas, implement data access layers, and optimize queries using ORMs or native SQL. Required Technical Skills Core Backend Skills: - Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture - Data Structures, Multithreading, Concurrency - Messaging Systems: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar - Batch and File Processing, Event-driven systems - Performance Engineering, Profiling, Optimization - RESTful API Design, Resiliency & Observability Full Stack / JavaScript Ecosystem: - JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js - Frameworks: Express, Fastify - API Development: REST / GraphQL - Authentication/Authorization: OAuth2, JWT, SSO - Frontend (optional exposure): React (especially for InnerSource Portal) Testing & DevOps: - Unit, Integration, and Performance Testing (JUnit, Jest, Mocha, Gatling, JMeter) - Mocking frameworks and test automation pipelines - CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar - Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes - Version Control: Git / GitHub Enterprise Cloud & Infra Knowledge (Good to Have): - AWS, Azure, or GCP exposure - Cloud-native microservices deployment Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Architect driving large-scale backend or full stack initiatives. - Experience working in InnerSource / Open Source environments. - Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, LangChain, etc.) is an advantage. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
