Company Description Assent is the leading solution for supply chain sustainability tailored for the world s top-tier sustainability-driven manufacturers Hidden risks riddle supply chains many of which weren t built with sustainability in mind That s where we step in With insights from experts Assent is the tool manufacturers trust for comprehensive sustainability We are proud to announce that Assent has crossed the US 100M ARR milestone granting us Centaur Status This accomplishment reached just 8 years following our Series A makes us the first and only Certified B Corporation in North America s SaaS sustainability industry to celebrate this milestone Our journey from 5 million to US 100M ARR in just eight years has been marked by significant growth and achievements With our 350 million US funding led by Vista Equity Partners we re poised for even greater expansion and are on the lookout for outstanding team members to join our mission Hybrid Work Model At Assent we proudly embrace a remote-first work model valuing the flexibility and autonomy it provides our team We also acknowledge the intangible benefits of occasional in-person workdays For team members situated within 50 kms 31 miles of our five global offices in Ottawa Eldoret Penang Columbus Pune and Amsterdam you can expect to come into the office 1-3 days a week Similarly those near our co-working spaces in Nairobi and Toronto are encouraged to work onsite once a month The Junior Data Architect plays an important supporting role in implementing Assent s data strategy through the design maintenance and improvement of our data platform architecture Reporting to the Manager Data Engineering Operations this role works closely with the Data Architect to ensure our data systems are scalable secure and well-aligned with the needs of our SaaS products and internal analytics initiatives This position is ideal for someone with a strong data engineering foundation who is passionate about data architecture and infrastructure The Junior Data Architect contributes to evolving our data models integration patterns and platform design while learning to balance long-term architectural goals with day-to-day delivery Key Requirements Responsibilities Collaborate closely with the Data Architect to implement maintain and evolve data platform architecture patterns and standards that support Assent s SaaS products and internal data services Develop and document logical and physical data models integration patterns and data flows in alignment with architecture guidelines Partner with Data Engineers and Infrastructure teams to implement robust scalable and secure data pipelines and storage solutions Contribute to design reviews by providing input on data modeling performance and architecture alignment Assist with implementation of data governance quality and security controls in collaboration with the Data Engineering Data Governance Security and Infrastructure teams Contribute to the documentation of architectural decisions standards and best practices to support platform maintainability and knowledge sharing Participate in Agile planning and cross-team collaboration to align data initiatives with business needs Be familiar with corporate security policies and follow the guidance set out by processes and procedures of Assent This is not an exhaustive list of duties Responsibilities may be altered and or added from time to time to meet business needs Qualifications We strongly value your talent energy and passion It will also be valuable to Assent if you have the following qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Data Engineering or a related field 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or data platform development Strong understanding of data modeling and relational database design e g PostgreSQL SQL Server MySQL Experience building and operating event driven systems at scale Background with cloud data platforms AWS preferred and tools such as Redshift Glue S3 or similar Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration e g Airflow dbt and modern ELT ETL practices Awareness of data governance security and compliance principles Exposure to infrastructure-as-code containerization or CI CD pipelines is an asset Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Additional Information Life at Assent Wellness We believe that you and your family s well being is important As a result we offer vacation time that increases with tenure comprehensive benefits packages details vary by country life leave days and more Financial Benefits It s not all about the money -
