Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst – Job Description Position Summary The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for testing software applications, identifying defects, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. The role involves creating test plans, executing test cases, documenting results, and collaborating with development teams to improve product quality. Key Responsibilities 1. Test Planning & Documentation - Analyze business requirements and technical specifications. - Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts. - Identify test scenarios for functional, regression, and integration testing. 2. Test Execution - Execute manual and automated test cases. - Validate functionality, performance, and usability of applications. - Document test results and log defects in the tracking system (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.). 3. Defect Management - Identify, report, and track defects through resolution. - Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues. - Retest fixes and ensure proper resolution. 4. Quality Control & Process Improvement - Ensure adherence to QA standards, best practices, and SDLC process. - Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings (Agile). - Recommend process improvements to enhance testing efficiency. 5. Collaboration & Communication - Work with product owners, business analysts, developers, and project managers. - Provide regular updates on testing status and risks. Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field. - Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Experience with test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr). - Hands-on experience in manual testing. - Basic understanding of automation tools (Selenium, Postman, Cypress is a plus). - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
