The EU 3P (MFN) Acceleration Team's mission is to set our EU Sellers up for success while using the MFN (Merchant Fulfilment) Network across our EU Marketplaces. We deliver needle-moving initiatives which provide a seamless experience to Amazon Sellers at each step of the Seller journey. And more

Selling on Amazon is one of the fastest growing businesses at Amazon with more than half of all items currently sold originating from 3rd party Sellers. In this team you'll be using the latest technologies to build highly distributed systems for our Sellers around the world. You'll learn and use the latest technology frameworks such as AWS and Machine Learning. You will join a highly technical and entrepreneurial culture defining and building a selling experience to complement Amazon's world-class e-commerce buying experience. As we take bold bets on challenging problems, you will have autonomy to deliver projects from inception to deployment and beyond.

As Technical Leaders, Senior Software Engineers at Amazon excel in tackling complex, ambiguous problems with minimal guidance. They consistently deliver high-impact solutions while maintaining a long-term perspective on the team's software architecture. Taking ownership of team architecture, Senior SDEs offer system-wide design guidance and drive engineering best practices across Operational Excellence, Security, and Quality domains. They address root causes of persistent issues, often influencing software decisions beyond their immediate team. Their ability to build consensus and navigate conflicting viewpoints is crucial in charting the best path forward.

Proficient in languages like Java and C++, they produce high-quality, maintainable, and robust code. Their problem-solving approach involves understanding the broader context and implementing simple, effective solutions without over-engineering. Senior SDEs demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns, applying them judiciously to solve business problems. Their deep knowledge of operating systems performance and scalability contributes to the creation of software that is both efficient and easy for others to contribute to. Senior SDEs deeply resonate with Amazon's customer-centric philosophy, ensuring their technical innovations are intrinsically aligned with and driven by overarching business objectives.

Key job responsibilities
Architect, Design, develop, and deploy high performance, test-driven code that meets requirements and is scalable and maintainable

Participate and lead in all stages of the software development cycle, including designing and developing new system architecture and improvements

Participate and lead code & design reviews within team and work with peers across other Amazon teams to build and scale services

Mentor SDEs on the team on best practices. Establish guidelines for processes within the team and practices for working with external teams. Drive best practices and engineering excellence

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
