Tasks About MBRDI Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India MBRDI headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune is the largest R D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany Our mission is to drive innovation and excellence in automotive engineering digitalization and sustainable mobility solutions shaping the future of mobility As a Principal Engineer for Data Science and Engineering you have the responsibility to develop data-centric solutions and take lead of comprehensive sub- projects with a direct impact on results You will work with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines professional backgrounds and specializations on a daily basis Responsibilities Responsible for the successful development and implementation of innovative analytics and business insights by tapping into various domain-specific data sources that are available Develop GenAI solutions using the data sources that addresses business needs Addressing on strategic and operational issues for enabling data engineering and data science topics within the domain by analyzing various data streams Understand business objective and translate it to Data science GenAI objectives Ensuring internal knowledge transfer between projects and stakeholders Deriving new conceptual approaches and methods for future projects Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams and sub-project management Contributing to the identification and evaluation of potential applications for data-based decision and insights Lead discussions with various function-owners and brainstorm for ideas to solve problems Participation in data analysis from conception to model building from data engineering to visualization Ensuring the internal transfer of knowledge between projects and stakeholders Contributing to the derivation of new conceptual approaches and methods for future projects Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams Participation in the development of individual sub- projects for the on-time on-budget and on-quality delivery of project results as well as the tracking and control of the respective project risks Skills Experience working with Azure cloud tech stack databricks ADLS etc and knowledge of multiple cloud tech-stacks Experience building models in distributed computing preferably pyspark Experience in Requirements engineering and rapid prototyping for the creation of BI data analytics tools Power BI Python stack in Azure environment Experience with development and operations of data pipelines in the cloud Preferably Azure Experience with distributed data computing tools Map Reduce Hadoop Hive Spark Deep expertise in architecting and data pipelines in cloud using cloud native technologies Good experience in both ETL and ELT Ingestion patterns building and managing data pipelines Hands-on experience working on large volumes of data Petabyte scale with distributed compute frameworks Leadership pre-requisites Has lead teams in the past with at least a size of 4-5 people with clear technical delivery responsibilities Has demonstrated undisputed will to succeed and has an ability to bring out the best solutions taking into account the engineering feasibility costs and timeline in mind Is purpose-driven entrepreneurial driven-to-win Is able to keep the customer s view point in mind in coming-up with effective solutions Imbibes culture and values of the organization is value-driven ethical and fair Motivated and passionate about learning new technologies creates a learning culture to self and others in the team Qualifications Qualifications Bachelors Masters PhD in Electrical Electronics Computer science Communications or other related streams of Engineering 10 years in Data Science and Engineering preferably in Automotive Experience in working in a diverse work environment across different work cultures and a matrix organization International work experience Strong written and oral communication skills English Other preferred skills German language skills will be added advantage Why Join Us Be part of a purpose-driven organization that is shaping the future of mobility Work on cutting-edge technologies and global projects Thrive in a collaborative diverse and inclusive environment Access world-class infrastructure and continuous learning opportunities Equal Opportunity Statement At MBRDI we are committed to diversity and inclusion We welcome applications from all qualified individuals regardless of gender background or ability
