Job Description - Join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians focused on developing catastrophe models for the insurance and reinsurance industries. - Contribute to the advancement, support, and delivery of the hazard component of storm surge peril models that inform global risk and capital management decisions. - Apply hydrodynamic numerical modeling expertise, particularly focused on atmospheric phenomena. - Balance model accuracy with computational cost to optimize performance. - Develop, maintain, and calibrate numerical models using advanced programming skills. - Work in a Linux-based high-performance computing environment. - Utilize version control systems, such as Git, to manage codebases effectively. - Conduct geospatial analysis and perform quality checks on observational datasets, quantifying uncertainties. - Validate models against historical datasets and apply calibration techniques to improve accuracy. - Collaborate in pioneering storm surge research by leveraging innovative scientific and statistical methods. - Communicate complex technical concepts clearly through excellent written and verbal skills. - Maintain a solutions-oriented approach focused on delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.
