Job Role Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring development and end to end validation of IFRS9 (Impairment Models). Should be familiar with MRM model validation framework and hands on experience on developing PD, EAD & LGD models for wholesale segment. We are looking for someone with a passion for risk management who is willing to learn and grow along the way.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be supporting the Model validation framework for IFRS9 Impairments models for wholesale products and response to regulatory feedback on existing set of models. development team to manage regulatory requirements. He should have hands on experience of developing and validating IFRS9 PD, EAD and LGD models into wholesale domain.
- Supporting to ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements for credit risk reporting with adherence to the IFRS9 guidelines.
- Supporting in deciphering and articulating drivers for risk including model parameters (probability of risk (PD), loss given default (LGD), exposure at default (EAD)) as well as other macroeconomic variables.
- Supporting in automation and system enhancement projects to ensure smooth reporting with best industry practices.
- Support in interpretation of external risk related standards and guidelines to ensure compliance
- Support in interpretation of internal credit and risk policies to ensure that risk reporting comply to bank wide credit culture.
- Ensuring strong governance and quality control by maintaining all validation and reconciliations procedures for external and internal audit.
- Coordination and collaboration with external auditors to share all processes, reconciliation and validation methodologies and ensure timely closure of the audit.
- Working in close collaboration with the financial planning team to forecast the provisioning requirements for the year (short term as well as long term planning) while ensuring optimum utilization of fund.
- Working in close collaboration with model risk team to ensure accurate estimation of ECL parameters (PD, LGD, EAD) and ensure adherence to best management practices.
Qualifications we seek:
- 6+ years of experience in risk analysis with experience in supporting risk reporting and mitigation.
- Good understanding of PD, LGD and Expected credit loss
- Masters degree in statistics/economics/finance.
- Candidate should be comfortable with excel spreadsheets and Microsoft powerpoint.
- Familiar with one or more industry leading data analytics and visualization tools such as SAS/SQL/Python.
- Good understanding of industry wide trends and regulatory guideline BASLE I/II/III/ IV, IFRS9, CECL, IFRS 9, CCAR and IFRS.
- Candidate should showcase excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Candidate should be diligent and with an eye for detail.
Preferred qualification:
- SAS coding experience preferred.
- Experience in VBA.
- Familiarity with econometrics, statistical modelling, risk scorecard development.
