Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and support network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. - Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime. - Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patching of network devices. - Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls. - Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and subnet configurations. - Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for network-related issues. - Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and change logs. - Assist in disaster recovery planning and network backups. - Work with vendors and service providers for hardware, connectivity, and support. - Stay current on new technologies and make recommendations for upgrades or improvements. Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - 25 years of experience as a Network Administrator or similar role. - Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or similar network equipment. - Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing/switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP). - Familiarity with firewall administration, IDS/IPS systems, and Wi-Fi networks. - Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios. - Strong problem-solving and documentation skills. Desirable Skills and Certifications: - Certifications such as: - CCNA, CCNP, Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS - Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell). - Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Experience with VoIP and unified communication platforms.
