Job Description Oliver Wyman's Data and Analytics team is looking to hire a Power BI specialist for our Hyderabad or Gurugram office. This group leverages data and information to provide business insights to Oliver Wyman consulting teams driving positive outcomes and tangible impact for Oliver Wyman's clients. The group combines cutting edge data science expertise with core consulting expertise to augment engagement teams with analytical firepower to deliver outstanding results. Role Summary: The Senior Analyst will independently manage medium to large projects, work directly with business users, and drive end-to-end dashboard development. This role requires strong analytical thinking, advanced Power BI expertise, and the ability to guide junior team members. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in improving reporting standards and implementing best practices Key Responsibilities - Own end-to-end development of Power BI dashboardsfrom requirement gathering to deployment - Manage interactions with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions - Design and optimize complex data models using DAX and Power Query - Conduct thorough data validation to ensure high data integrity - Lead performance optimization for large datasets and slow dashboards - Ensure adherence to best practices in data visualization, security, and governance - Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Analysts - Lead UAT sessions, resolve defects, and ensure smooth production rollouts - Contributes to building standardized templates, KPI dictionaries, and reusable components - Prepare documentation for dashboards, data models, and business logic - Support ad-hoc analysis requests from business stakeholders - Stay updated with Power BI features and best practices to improve reporting standards Education: - Bachelor's degree in science, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or equivalent. MS or Certificate courses in analytics preferred Experience & Skills Requirements: - Overall experience of 3+ years in Power BI with strong end-to-end project delivery skills - Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and hierarchical relationships - Experience with Power BI ecosystem tools, including custom visuals, Dataflows, and Power Automate - Strong stakeholder management and requirement-gathering skills - Prior experience in handling medium/large-scale dashboards with complex transformations - Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose data issues quickly - Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills - Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams - Knowledge of SQL, cloud environments (Azure, AWS), and database concepts is preferred. - Ability to mentor junior team members - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to deliver actionable insights and proficiency in data modelling and visualization skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of stakeholders (both internal and external) - Fast learner with ability to learn and pick up a new tool/ platform quickly - Advanced skills in MS-office, along with familiarity with Gen AI and other analytical tools preferred - Willingness to travel as required to meet client needs Oliver Wyman, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), is a management consulting firm combining deep industry knowledge with specialized expertise to help clients optimize their business, improve operations and accelerate performance.
