About The Role We are seeking an experienced Android Application Developer to join our dynamic team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in developing high-performance enterprise mobile applications using Kotlin and Android SDK. As a vital member of our mobile development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Android applications that meet the needs of our global clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, backend developers, and product managers to deliver seamless mobile experiences. Qualifications - Degree or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. - Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Android development using Kotlin, with a focus on enterprise-level mobile applications. - Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, Android SDK, and design patterns. - Experience working with large and complex codebases, including API design and integration techniques to ensure maintainability and scalability. - Proficiency in designing clean, efficient, and maintainable APIs. Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications aligned with business requirements and technical standards. - Implement best coding practices, security protocols, and unit testing to ensure application robustness and security. - Collaborate with UI/UX teams to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces. - Work closely with backend teams to integrate RESTful APIs and other services efficiently. - Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance. - Ensure adherence to Agile development methodologies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical specifications and development processes. - Stay updated with the latest Android development trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the quality of deliverables. Technical Skills - Hands-on experience with Android Architecture Components, including ViewModel, LiveData, Room, and WorkManager. - Deep understanding of app lifecycle management, multi-threading, and memory optimization specific to mobile devices. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and troubleshooting in distributed service environments. - Knowledge of MVVM architecture, Dependency Injection (DI) frameworks such as Dagger or Hilt, and functional programming paradigms. - Experience working with Firebase services for analytics, authentication, and real-time database management. Functional Skills - Ability to follow and enforce best coding, security, and documentation standards. - Experience working within Agile teams, participating actively in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and benchmark new technologies for continuous improvement. - Proven capability to deliver high-quality applications within tight deadlines and changing requirements. Soft Skills - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly to senior management and stakeholders. - Ability to influence and guide multiple teams on technical considerations, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. - Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
