Job Title: Senior QA Engineer

Location: Bangalore, India

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer with deep expertise in test automation frameworks, API testing, and CI/CD integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript), Rest Assured (Java-based), and modern QA practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for UI testing (Playwright, Selenium) and API testing (Rest Assured and related tools).
- Create and execute automated test suites for RESTful APIs, validating request/response payloads, headers, status codes, and data integrity.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to gather requirements, define test scenarios, and deliver high-quality test coverage.
- Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for both automated and manual testing.
- Perform end-to-end testing including functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and log/report bugs using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
- Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Generate and present test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality dashboards to stakeholders.
- Continuously enhance test automation frameworks, QA best practices, and processes to improve overall efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5–8 years of professional experience in QA automation and software testing.
- Proven hands-on expertise in:
- Playwright (TypeScript) – mandatory
- Rest Assured (Java-based) for API automation
- Postman or equivalent tools for manual API testing
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and HTTP protocols.
- Experience with test frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Proficient in Git-based version control and branching strategies.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.
