Job Description Lighting Engineer (Dialux + AutoCAD + Technical BOQ Specialist) Location: Faridabad / New Delhi (as per company requirement) Department: Lighting Design & Technical Role Type: Full-Time, On-Site About Sketch Lighting Sketch Lighting is not a mass-production company we design and deliver customized, project-specific, designer lighting solutions for premium architects, interior designers, consultants, and corporate clients. We want a Lighting Engineer who enjoys solving unique problems, designing lighting layouts from scratch, and working closely with creative minds to bring concepts to life. Role Overview The Lighting Engineer will be responsible for creating complete lighting design packages from first concept presentation to final tender BOQ using Dialux, AutoCAD, and creative tools. This role is a blend of technical lighting design, client coordination, architectural understanding, and project accountability. Key Responsibilities 1. Concept Creation & First Submission - Receive project drawings (plans, RCP, furniture layout) from architects. - Prepare a clean, visual first submission in Canva/PPT to understand the architect's taste & design direction. - Present multiple mood options or lighting concepts where needed. 2. Dialux Lighting Calculations - Use Dialux to calculate required lighting quantities. - Ensure lux levels meet functional and aesthetic criteria. - Optimize fixture selection based on performance and project style. 3. AutoCAD Lighting Layouts - Prepare detailed lighting layouts showing: - Fixture placements - Symbol references - Clear legends - Quantities per area - Drawings must be so clear that even a non-technical person can understand the symbols and quantities instantly. 4. Technical BOQ & Tender Specification Sheet Create a complete technical BOQ including: - Lighting specifications - Photometric details where necessary - Product images/renders - Clear descriptions that: - Prevent low-grade brands from qualifying - Do NOT appear biased towards Sketch Lighting - Pricing that includes: - Profit margin - Installation support - Freight - Packaging - Contractor margin - GST - Must be tender-friendly, architect-friendly, and technically sound. 5. Key Account & Architect Handling - Manage assigned key architects, consultants, and accounts with full ownership. - Build long-term confidence so that whenever they think of lighting, they think of Sketch Lighting. - Ensure inclusion of Sketch Lighting in their master approval lists. 6. Coordination With Product Designers - Support the Product Design team during concept development. - Advise on technical feasibility, beam angles, lumen output, and real-world lighting effect. - Help predict the lighting performance of newly designed or customized fixtures. 7. Project Collaboration & Follow-ups - Attend internal project meetings. - Provide lighting insights to sales, marketing, production, and installation teams. - Ensure final lighting designs match real installation feasibility.
