Job Description Primary Title: SAS Administrator About The Opportunity A staffing and HR services firm supporting enterprise analytics and data platform deployments across banking, healthcare, and consumer goods in India is hiring an on-site SAS Administrator. This role will own day-to-day administration, stability, and security of SAS analytics platforms used by cross-functional teams to deliver production analytics and reporting. Location: India (On-site) Role & Responsibilities - Administer, install, configure, and upgrade SAS platform components (SAS 9.x and SAS Viya) across development, QA, and production environments. - Manage SAS Metadata Server, SAS Grid Manager, and compute tierimplement patching, capacity planning, and performance tuning to meet SLAs. - Provision and manage users, groups, and security integrations (LDAP / Active Directory), enforce role-based access and encryption policies. - Develop and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for SAS environments; perform regular DR tests and validation. - Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripts and configuration management; monitor platform health and respond to incidents 24x7 as needed. - Collaborate with DBAs, infra, and data engineering teams on database connectivity, networking, and platform optimization; create runbooks and knowledge transfer docs. Skills & Qualifications Must-Have - Proven hands-on experience administering SAS 9.4 and/or SAS Viya in enterprise environments. - Experience managing SAS Metadata Server and SAS Grid Manager, including configuration and troubleshooting. - Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL/CentOS) and familiarity with Windows server components where applicable. - Experience integrating SAS with LDAP / Active Directory for authentication and authorization. - Proficiency with scripting for automation (Bash or Python) and experience with backup/restore and DR procedures. - Solid understanding of database connectivity with Oracle / SQL Server, networking basics, and application server components (Tomcat/WebLogic). Preferred - Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for SAS Viya deployments. - Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible and CI/CD pipelines. - SAS platform certifications or ITIL/operations certifications that demonstrate operational excellence.
