SAP BTP Developer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 3 years Location: Bengaluru JobType: full-time We are looking for an experienced SAP BTP Developer with strong expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), and Node.js. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying cloud-native applications, integrations, and extensions on SAP BTP to support digital transformation initiatives. This role requires hands-on technical skills, strong problem-solving ability, and a deep understanding of SAP’s cloud ecosystem. Requirements Key Responsibilities 1. Application Development on SAP BTP - Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications using SAP BTP services such as Cloud Foundry, Kyma, SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP Integration Suite. - Build scalable and secure backend services using Node.js within SAP’s Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP). - Develop OData services, REST APIs, and business logic using CAPM frameworks for end-to-end application functionality. - Implement multi-tenant SaaS extensions and side-by-side extensibility scenarios for SAP S/4HANA and other SAP solutions. 2. CAPM & Node.js Engineering - Write robust Node.js code within the CAP framework for data models, service layers, business rules, authorization, and event handling. - Create and maintain CDS (Core Data Services) models and annotations for efficient data modelling and API generation. - Integrate external APIs and third-party services into CAP-based applications. - Ensure best practices for clean-code, modular architecture, reusable components, and efficient error handling. 3. SAP BTP Integration & Deployment - Configure, manage, and utilize various SAP BTP components including Destination Service, XSUAA Authentication, SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP Job Scheduler. - Deploy applications to BTP Cloud Foundry or Kyma, ensuring optimal performance and availability. - Work with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or SAP BTP CI/CD service to automate builds, deployments, and testing. 4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Interaction - Collaborate with functional consultants, frontend developers, and integration teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Participate in technical design discussions, solution architecture reviews, and code reviews. - Provide input on best practices, performance optimization, scalability, and security. 5. Maintenance, Monitoring & Support - Monitor deployed applications using SAP BTP monitoring tools, audit logs, and alert mechanisms. - Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, and implement fixes or optimizations. - Continuously improve existing applications by adopting new SAP BTP capabilities, libraries, and updates. Required Skills & Qualifications - 3–7 years of experience in SAP BTP development or cloud-native application development. - Strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry/Kyma), CAPM, Node.js, and SAP HANA Cloud. - Proficiency in CDS modelling, OData/REST API development, and microservice-based architectures. - Experience with authentication/authorization (XSUAA, OAuth), event-driven architecture, and messaging services. - Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and agile development practices. - Excellent debugging, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Skills - Experience with SAP UI5, Fiori Elements, or React-based UI extensions. - Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA extensibility, SAP Integration Suite, or enterprise integration patterns. - Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS architecture and Kubernetes-based deployments.
