Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Check Point, etc.). - Manage firewall rules, NAT policies, VPN tunnels, and access control lists (ACLs) to ensure secure connectivity. - Monitor firewall logs and alerts for potential threats, anomalies, or misconfigurations. - Review and analyze firewall change requests to ensure alignment with security policies. - Conduct regular firewall audits and rule cleanup to improve efficiency and reduce attack surfaces. - Collaborate with network, security, and compliance teams on projects and incident response. - Maintain documentation of firewall configurations, policies, and change histories. - Stay up-to-date with new vulnerabilities, patches, and emerging firewall technologies. Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. - 3+ years of experience as a firewall or network security administrator. - Hands-on experience with one or more firewall platforms such as: - Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Check Point, or Juniper SRX - Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, NAT, and VPNs (IPSec/SSL). - Familiarity with IDS/IPS, proxy servers, and next-generation firewall (NGFW) features. - Proficient in security policy management and firewall rule lifecycle. - Experience with log analysis and SIEM tools for security monitoring. Desirable Skills and Certifications: - Relevant certifications such as: - PCNSE (Palo Alto), Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNP Security, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, CISSP, or CEH - Scripting or automation experience with Python, Ansible, or Bash. - Exposure to cloud firewalls in AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Understanding of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or NIST.
