Job Title Safety EngineerLocation City State Department Engineering SafetyReports to Safety Manager Head of EngineeringPosition Type Full-timeJob Summary The Safety Engineer at Frauscher is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining safety programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements This role involves identifying potential hazards conducting risk assessments and promoting a culture of safety within the organization The Safety Engineer will work closely with various departments to ensure the safety and reliability of Frauschers products and operations Key Responsibilities Safety Program Development Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment Risk Assessment Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations standards and codes including OSHA ISO and industry-specific requirements Incident Investigation Lead investigations of accidents incidents and near misses Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence Training and Education Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels Promote awareness of safety practices and procedures Safety Audits Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities equipment and processes Ensure that all safety measures are effectively implemented and maintained Documentation Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities including incident reports training records and audit findings Prepare regular reports for management Product Safety Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that all products meet safety standards and regulatory requirements Participate in design reviews and safety assessments of new and existing products Emergency Preparedness Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training exercises Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety practices and processes Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance safety performance Collaboration Work closely with other departments including engineering production and quality assurance to support safety initiatives and ensure alignment with company goals Qualifications Education Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field Advanced degree or certifications e g CSP CIH are a plus Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector Experience with rail technology or related industries is a plus Skills Strong knowledge of safety regulations standards and best practices Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses Proficiency in safety management software and tools Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Certifications Certified Safety Professional CSP Certified Industrial Hygienist CIH or other relevant safety certifications are preferred Personal Attributes Detail-Oriented High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in safety documentation and reporting Proactive Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety issues Ethical Strong ethical standards and commitment to promoting a culture of safety Collaborative Team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Adaptable Flexibility to adapt to changing safety requirements and industry standards Benefits Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses Health dental and vision insurance Retirement plan with company match Paid time off and holidays Professional development and training opportunities
