About The Role

We are hiring a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our India Operations and play a crucial role in our mission to establish a world-class data engineering team within the Center for Data and Insights (CDI). In this role, youll play a key part in building a cutting-edge, real-time data platform, designed to deliver insights at scale and power data-driven decision-making across our organization. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, your responsibilities will include collaborating with the data team and working on both backend microservices & frontend interfaces, crafting solutions that ensure data is processed, analyzed, and visualized in real time.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in Java, React, AWS/GCP, Kafka, and NoSQL databases to create robust and scalable components for our real-time platform. This position requires a proactive, self-driven individual who values outcomes over outputs and can work independently to achieve impactful results. Core Areas of Responsibility

- Design and develop scalable, secure, and efficient backend microservices using Java, with a strong emphasis on API design and microservices architecture.
- Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using React, ensuring seamless integration with backend services.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features while maintaining a user-first approach.
- Ensure smooth deployment and performance in cloud environments, leveraging AWS or GCP.
- Implement and maintain event-driven architecture using Kafka and NoSQL databases, optimizing data handling and storage.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, unit testing, and software engineering best practices, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
- Adopt and advocate for enterprise integration patterns (EIP) using frameworks such as Apache Camel, facilitating smooth communication across services.
- Champion continuous improvements and innovations to optimize processes, enhance performance, and drive automation.

About You

- 10+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with expertise in both backend (Java, Microservices) and frontend (React) development.
- Proficiency in building and deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
- Experience with event-driven architectures and tools such as Kafka, along with a strong understanding of NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to EIP frameworks like Apache Camel, with a solid understanding of integration patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving meaningful outcomes over mere output.
- Good to have: Exposure to microfrontend architectures + AI / ML / LLM systems
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
