About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled API Tester with 3-5 years of experience in testing web services, REST and SOAP APIs, and backend integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and executing automated and manual API test cases, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance across projects.

KeyResponsibilities:

- Design, execute, and maintain API test cases (manual and automated) to validate business logic and data flows.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on REST/SOAP APIs.
- Create and maintain test data and conduct data validation against different data sources (SQL/NoSQL).
- Work with tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or similar for API testing and automation.
- Develop automated API testing scripts using tools/languages like Rest Assured, Karate, Python, or Java.
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality across the delivery pipeline.
- Understand API documentation (Swagger, OpenAPI) and provide feedback to improve clarity and coverage.
- Identify, report, and track defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Contribute to continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines by integrating API test suites.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, security practices, and project requirements.

RequiredSkills&Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in API testing.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful and SOAP APIs, HTTP methods, response codes, and authentication mechanisms.
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, JMeter).
- Hands-on expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Rest Assured, Karate, Cypress, or similar).
- Good knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
- Understanding of JSON, XML, and data parsing techniques.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

GoodtoHave

- Knowledge of performance testing and API load testing.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud-based APIs (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of security testing for APIs (OAuth2, JWT, token-based authentication)
