Senior VMware Engineer – VCF/NSX/vSAN/Aria Deployment & Migrations Location: PAN India Experience: 4+ years N.P : Immediate Joiner Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior VMware Engineer with deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX, vSAN, and the VMware Aria Suite (formerly vRealize Suite). This role will focus on the design, deployment, migration, and optimization of complex, enterprise-scale virtualized environments across multiple customer engagements. Key Responsibilities: Design & Deployment - Architect and deploy VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, including both management and workload domains. - Implement NSX-T/NSX-V, covering logical switching, routing, firewalls, and network services. - Configure and manage vSAN clusters, including stretched clusters and storage policies. - Deploy and manage components of the VMware Aria Suite: - Aria Operations (vROps) - Aria Automation (vRA) - Aria Operations for Networks (vRNI) - Aria Lifecycle (vLCM) Migration Projects - Lead end-to-end workload migrations to VCF environments. - Utilize tools like VMware HCX, vMotion, cold migrations, and Site Recovery Manager (SRM). - Perform pre-migration assessments, dependency mapping, and develop migration runbooks, rollback plans, and testing strategies. Automation & Operations - Automate VM provisioning and lifecycle management using Aria Automation and vRealize Orchestrator. - Integrate Aria Operations and vRNI for monitoring, alerting, and optimization. - Support scripting/automation using PowerCLI, Ansible, or Python. Support & Optimization - Provide post-deployment support, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization. - Troubleshoot across compute, storage, and network layers to resolve complex issues. - Collaborate with security/compliance teams for adherence to governance and regulatory frameworks. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer - Create and maintain comprehensive HLDs/LLDs, SOPs, deployment and migration guides. - Conduct KT (Knowledge Transfer) and training sessions for internal teams and client personnel. Team Management & Leadership (as applicable): Operational Oversight - Lead architecture planning, migration, and installation support for platforms, middleware, and backup infrastructure. - Manage daily operations, including incident resolution, RCA, upgrades, patching, and maintenance. Resource Management - Forecast talent needs and support hiring of skilled resources. - Ensure onboarding, upskilling, and internal mobility through training and mentorship. Performance Management - Set team goals, conduct appraisals, and provide constructive feedback. - Promote high performers and ensure alignment with organizational performance frameworks (e.g., Performance Nxt). Engagement & Satisfaction - Drive employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and satisfaction tracking. - Encourage innovation and service improvement (SIP) through automation and continuous improvement. Required Skills & Experience: - 4+ years of experience in enterprise virtualization and software-defined data center (SDDC) environments. - Expertise in: - VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) – lifecycle management, domain configuration. - NSX-T/NSX-V – design, deployment, microsegmentation. - vSAN – implementation, fault domains, stretched clusters. - VMware Aria Suite – Operations, Automation, Orchestrator, Lifecycle. - Deep understanding of vSphere 6.x/7.x/8.x, vCenter, and ESXi. - Hands-on experience with VMware HCX, SRM, and large-scale workload migration projects. - Familiarity with automation/scripting tools: PowerCLI, Ansible, Python (preferred).
